Motion Graphics
A speculative project envisioning MOSA’s identity, created in collaboration with fellow student Sam Rioga. We explored audience needs, developed a brand strategy, and designed a visual system inspired by the idea of resonance.
Strategy
We chose a brand strategy that would resonate deeply with people while representing Aotearoa authentically.
Museum of Sound Aotearoa is a resonant space where sound, culture, and technology converge, inviting visitors to listen deeply, feel fully, and engage with New Zealand in new ways. Through the voices, rhythms, and echoes of Aotearoa, MOSA connects people with who we are, where we are, and where we’re going. It’s a place to discover your frequency and tune into the heart of New Zealand.
Design
The Museum of Sound Aotearoa’s identity brings resonance to life. Overlapping shapes, vibrant colours, and bold typography reflect the convergence of sound, culture, and technology, creating a visual language that feels energetic and alive.
Geometric motifs evoke sound waves and motion, giving form to the idea behind 'Find Your Frequency', that everyone has a place, a rhythm, a voice in Aotearoa’s sonic story.
Graphics and compositions are intentionally high-contrast and immersive, capturing the emotion of sound while inviting personal engagement. The type is loud, unapologetic, and dynamic, echoing MOSA’s mission to amplify voices and encourage visitors to tune in.
Results
The identity creates a vibrant, evolving visual system that mirrors MOSA’s purpose: helping people connect with who they are, where they are, and where they’re going through the power of sound. By turning abstract concepts into tangible, playful graphics and type, the system makes sound visible, memorable, and resonant, giving the museum a voice that truly belongs to Aotearoa.
