Motion Graphics
A speculative project exploring how design can make daily habit-building more social, rewarding, and sustainable. Produced with fellow student Aidan Couch, Bloks reimagines habit tracking through modular 'blocks' that stack as you complete routines, encouraging consistency and celebrating progress.
Strategy
The concept was initially inspired by James Clear's 'Atomic Habits', with the goal of creating a tool which encourages small, incremental actions that compound over time.
The brand's strategy focuses on turning self-improvement into a visual, social experience. Progress isn't hidden in charts or stats, but shown through tangible building blocks that grow as habits take shape.
'Bloks' fosters accountability and motivation by connecting users to friends, challenges, and shared milestones, transforming the often solitary act of self-discipline into something communal, playful, and rewarding.

Design
The visual identity uses bold colour blocks and dynamic motion to represent progress and connection. The modular design language mirrors how small habits join together and grow over time, while vibrant gradients and animated transitions bring energy and optimism to the interface.
The app's typography is confident and approachable, reinforcing the brand’s supportive tone. The motion system reinforces feedback, where each completed habit 'snaps' satisfyingly into place, turning small wins into visible achievements.
Results
'Bloks' transforms everyday discipline into a tangible, motivating experience. By blending visual satisfaction with social engagement, it repositions habit-building as a creative, connected act, where progress feels good, looks good, and grows one block at a time.
